British asparagus is one of the best ingredients available and what a treat to have it in our box. It’s versatility makes it an easy ingredient to use and it's as delicious raw, as it is cooked and equally delicious served hot or cold.
This week’s bounty from Boxed Fresh has had me busy in the kitchen and the cauliflower came in perfect on one of our busier nights. I first encountered this curry when my sister and her boyfriend came to visit a few years ago. They made it for us all and it was a big hit, even with my two young boys.

As BBQ season approaches, we have added some delicious bulbs of kohlrabi to this week’s boxes. High in vitamin C and vitamin B6, Kohlrabi makes a delicious addition to a traditional grated carrot salad, popular in parts of France. The traditional salad has been adapted into a homemade coleslaw which we have attached below.
Foraging for food is becoming increasingly popular and one particular ingredient which is great to forage for, is wild garlic. The wild garlic season starts in the late winter and lasts until the end of spring. As it gradually appears throughout our local countryside, we can find it in specific places such as woodland and hedgerows. When you crush the wild garlic leaves between your fingers, you should get a strong smell of garlic.
Although aubergines are commonly referred to as a vegetable, they are in fact a fruit. We have found a simple yet delicious recipe which is perfect for an easy lunch or as a side dish with your evening meal.
